We lost our beloved dog last year and felt the loss of such an important member of the family. A friend of ours told us about a woman who rescues dogs and also breeds Shiba Inus. That is how we came to know the people behind MyShiba.com. The rest is a happily ever ending that continues to bring us joy with each passing day.
Danielle and Kevin walked us thru the process, answered each and every question about this zany breed and hand picked Tiger (formerly known as Toby) to suit our family.
On December 21, we flew in to pick up Tiger at the MyShiba.com facilities. The compound is more impressive in person than the photos on the website depict. We met some of the dogs, including a super friendly Shiba Inu that was rescued with a shattered leg from a local shelter. Danielle and Kevin nursed him back to health when others had given up on the beautiful athletic dog. Truly inspiring that with so many dogs, they would devote the time and expense of several surgeries to healing a dog in need. . . and it paid off.
Now back to our Tiger, we picked him up and took him back to our hotel for the night and flew home the following day. As you can readily imagine, Tiger gets plenty of attention wherever he goes, even TSA at the airport stopped to admire him.
At 8 weeks. Tiger did his business on wee wee pads. I didn’t know that was possible at such a young age. But he does! Tiger is bold, fearless and brings us endless entertainment. He is great with kids, strangers and other dogs. He almost has us completely trained.
I cannot say enough about MyShiba.com and Danielle and Kevin. They were responsible for an amazing Christmas filled with puppy mischief and grown up laughter. We are eternally grateful.
